In the Mid-Atlantic, where I live, winter is no joke. Some years it barely dips below 40Β°F, and others weβre buried under a few feet of snow.
When I worked at the Porsche dealership, we always noticed a quiet stretch this time of yearβmost clients tucked their cars away until spring.
If youβre doing the same, hereβs what to do before you park your car for the season.
π₯ 1. Fuel β Your Most Important (and Costly) Step
Fuel conditioning is the number one thing people overlook. Bad fuel causes all kinds of headaches later.
Step one: head to your local auto parts store and grab a bottle of Sta-Bil.
Sta-Bil floats on top of the fuel in your tank, preventing the gas from evaporating (thatβs what makes fuel βgo badβ).
Modern cars can adjust for older fuel, but vintage carsβespecially those with MFI, carburetors, or CISβreally hate it.
There are two types of Sta-Bil:
Sta-Bil 360: for older cars (non-modern fuel injection). It neutralizes the ethanol in fuel.
Regular Sta-Bil: perfect for modern vehicles.
π Follow the instructions on the label based on your tank size. Once youβve added the right amount, fill your tank with the best gas you can find.
Here in the D.C. area, 93 octane is as good as it gets. I recommend a βTop Tierβ station like Shell V-Powerβitβs my go-to.
π 2. Battery β Donβt Let It Die on the Shelf
Youβll need a good battery maintainer. I use NOCO, Battery Tender, and CTEKβbut CTEK is my favorite. Itβs what I use on both my Land Cruiser and my 964.
If youβre running a LiFePOβ battery, make sure to use a lithium-compatible charger.
Need help choosing one? Just replyβIβm happy to make a recommendation.
π§ 3. Tires β Prevent Flat Spots
Before storage, overfill your tires slightly. I bump most modern tires up to around 45 PSI to prevent flat spotting during long periods of rest.
π 4. Keep It Ready to Go
A big part of collection management at Group C Curation is making sure every car is always ready to run. Even during the salty winter months, I make sure to bring clientsβ cars up to temperature (coolant and oil, or just oil) and roll them around to keep the tires healthy.
Wrapping Up
Winter storage doesnβt have to be complicatedβyou just need a simple routine. Follow these steps, and your car will be ready to fire up the moment spring rolls around.

π The 2026β2028 Tesla Roadster: The EV Supercar That Could Rewrite Performance Car History
By Tim Harris Β· November 21, 2025
The next-generation Tesla Roadster is comingβeventuallyβand the hype is already shaking the automotive world. With Elon Musk teasing a 2026 reveal and performance specs that look physically illegal, the Roadster might become the car that changes the entire supercar landscape, from EVs to ICE Ferraris.
Tesla Roadster 2026β2028: What We Know So Far
The official information is limited but powerful:
Targeted 0β60 mph in 1.9 seconds
βOver 250 mphβ top speed
620 miles of range
Tri-motor AWD
Massive 200 kWh battery pack
Removable glass roof
Elon now claims the real production model will be βvery differentβ from the original prototypeβhinting at more speed, more tech, and more insanity.
Industry insiders suggest actual production starts in 2027β2028, but the reveal is slated for April 1, 2026.
Predicted Tesla Roadster Features (2026 Model)
These predictions are based on industry leaks, supply chain clues, Muskβs public comments, and Teslaβs technology roadmap.
1. Insane Acceleration (1.4β1.7 Seconds to 60 mph)
If Tesla hits this target, the new Roadster will:
Out-accelerate every ICE supercar
Challenge multi-million-dollar EV hypercars
Redefine βfastβ in the EV era
Expect a quarter-mile in the low 8s and a potential 300+ mph top speed if aero allows.
2. 550β620 Miles of Real Driving Range
A 200 kWh pack with next-gen energy density means:
True 600-mile range
350β500 kW charging capability
10β80% in under 20 minutes
Tesla will use this car as a tech showcaseβand the battery will be the star.
3. SpaceX-Inspired Thrusters & Wild Tech
While some features may end up optional or limited, expect:
Cold-gas thruster package (yes, really)
Steer-by-wire
Track telemetry + Autopilot integration
Lightweight aero and a carbon-intensive structure
A minimalist, futuristic cockpit
Tesla is pushing boundaries simply because it can.
Tesla Roadster Pricing Predictions (2026β2028 Models)
Price is where the Roadster becomes especially disruptive.
Base Model: ~$200,000
Founders / High-Spec Version: $250,000β$280,000
Ultra-Limited Collector Variant: $300,000+
This lands squarely in Ferrari/McLaren/Porsche territoryβbut with EV physics-breaking performance.
How the Tesla Roadster Will Disrupt the Competition
1. EV Supercar Market Impact
The Roadster could kneecap hyper-EVs like:
Rimac Nevera
Lotus Evija
Pininfarina Battista
These cars cost $2β3 million. If Tesla delivers similar (or superior) performance for ~$200k, that market shifts instantly.
2. ICE Supercars Face a New Benchmark
Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, McLarenβall are vulnerable.
A 1.x-second EV with 600 miles of range forces a question:
Why buy a $450k ICE supercar that gets outrun by a silent EV missile?
Brands will respond with:
Faster hybridization
Lighter materials
More extreme tech
Higher MSRPs to keep exclusivity
But the Roadster changes expectations overnight.
3. Performance-Per-Dollar Shockwave
This is the hidden killer.
A $200k Roadster outperforming $500k+ ICE cars creates:
Value distortion
Resale pressure
Buyer migration toward EV supercars
A new definition of "accessible performance"
4. The New Definition of βSupercarβ
The Roadster might force a permanent shift:
Speed: EV
Emotion: ICE
Status: Hybrid
Range: Tesla
Every manufacturer must decide what they want to be in this new hierarchy.
Final Take: Why the Roadster Matters
If Tesla delivers even 60β70% of whatβs promised, the Roadster becomes the new global performance benchmark.
It changes:
How EVs are viewed
How ICE cars are priced
How supercar performance is measured
How younger enthusiasts think about βdream carsβ
And at ~$200k, it hits a segment where buyers actually existβunlike the $3M hypercars.
The next Tesla Roadster isnβt just a car.
Itβs a shot across the bow of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, Rimac, Bugattiβeveryone.
And when it finally arrives?
The entire performance-car world will have to react.
