In the Mid-Atlantic, where I live, winter is no joke. Some years it barely dips below 40°F, and others we’re buried under a few feet of snow.

When I worked at the Porsche dealership, we always noticed a quiet stretch this time of year—most clients tucked their cars away until spring.

If you’re doing the same, here’s what to do before you park your car for the season.

Fuel conditioning is the number one thing people overlook. Bad fuel causes all kinds of headaches later.

Step one: head to your local auto parts store and grab a bottle of Sta-Bil.
Sta-Bil floats on top of the fuel in your tank, preventing the gas from evaporating (that’s what makes fuel “go bad”).

Modern cars can adjust for older fuel, but vintage cars—especially those with MFI, carburetors, or CIS—really hate it.

There are two types of Sta-Bil:

👉 Follow the instructions on the label based on your tank size. Once you’ve added the right amount, fill your tank with the best gas you can find.

Here in the D.C. area, 93 octane is as good as it gets. I recommend a “Top Tier” station like Shell V-Power—it’s my go-to.

You’ll need a good battery maintainer. I use NOCO, Battery Tender, and CTEK—but CTEK is my favorite. It’s what I use on both my Land Cruiser and my 964.

If you’re running a LiFePO₄ battery, make sure to use a lithium-compatible charger.

Before storage, overfill your tires slightly. I bump most modern tires up to around 45 PSI to prevent flat spotting during long periods of rest.

A big part of collection management at Group C Curation is making sure every car is always ready to run. Even during the salty winter months, I make sure to bring clients’ cars up to temperature (coolant and oil, or just oil) and roll them around to keep the tires healthy.

Winter storage doesn’t have to be complicated—you just need a simple routine. Follow these steps, and your car will be ready to fire up the moment spring rolls around.

The next-generation Tesla Roadster is coming—eventually—and the hype is already shaking the automotive world. With Elon Musk teasing a 2026 reveal and performance specs that look physically illegal, the Roadster might become the car that changes the entire supercar landscape, from EVs to ICE Ferraris.

The official information is limited but powerful:

Elon now claims the real production model will be “very different” from the original prototype—hinting at more speed, more tech, and more insanity.

Industry insiders suggest actual production starts in 2027–2028, but the reveal is slated for April 1, 2026.

These predictions are based on industry leaks, supply chain clues, Musk’s public comments, and Tesla’s technology roadmap.

If Tesla hits this target, the new Roadster will:

Expect a quarter-mile in the low 8s and a potential 300+ mph top speed if aero allows.

A 200 kWh pack with next-gen energy density means:

Tesla will use this car as a tech showcase—and the battery will be the star.

While some features may end up optional or limited, expect:

Tesla is pushing boundaries simply because it can.

Price is where the Roadster becomes especially disruptive.

This lands squarely in Ferrari/McLaren/Porsche territory—but with EV physics-breaking performance.

The Roadster could kneecap hyper-EVs like:

These cars cost $2–3 million. If Tesla delivers similar (or superior) performance for ~$200k, that market shifts instantly.

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren—all are vulnerable.

A 1.x-second EV with 600 miles of range forces a question:

Why buy a $450k ICE supercar that gets outrun by a silent EV missile?

Brands will respond with:

But the Roadster changes expectations overnight.

This is the hidden killer.

A $200k Roadster outperforming $500k+ ICE cars creates:

The Roadster might force a permanent shift:

Every manufacturer must decide what they want to be in this new hierarchy.

If Tesla delivers even 60–70% of what’s promised, the Roadster becomes the new global performance benchmark.

It changes:

And at ~$200k, it hits a segment where buyers actually exist—unlike the $3M hypercars.

The next Tesla Roadster isn’t just a car.
It’s a shot across the bow of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, Rimac, Bugatti—everyone.

And when it finally arrives?
The entire performance-car world will have to react.
